Wolves & Sharks

Well, as the last game of the first round we played the Sutherland Sharks at home,John Crehan Park. Without any loss in the championship so far, the Sharks headed back home with three more points after the 90 minutes.
It was a tough game, where goals scored in the first half.
We came into the second half believing we could turn the score for us, but the Sharks with a very organized team were able to keep the score till the end, and keeping the record without any losses.

After the game as a sign of the best sportsmanship we headed into town with some of the Sutherland players and had a great time at the local bars of Wollongong.

I honestly wish that both teams can be in the playoffs … but then we win and become the champions..eheh!!

My regards to Sutherland players.

Proud to represent Timor Leste

Saturday May 3, 2008

On Saturday night we played Marconi Stallions to a 1-1 draw at their home.

Club president Tony Campolongo and Football Chairman Vince Foti, Consul-General for Timor Leste in Australia, Mr. Abel Guterres, and the president of the Timorese Australian Council, Mr. Carlos Pereira, were at the game.

After the game i was invited to a function, attended by over two hundred corporate guests and players, where i and Abel Guterres, presented traditional Timorese scarves to Mr. Campolongo, Mr. Foti, players Nahuel Arrarte and Chris Nunes, and Marconi coach David Barrett.

Marconi’s Nahuel Arrarte, is looking to play for Timor Leste in the near future. Arrarte’s wife is of Timorese descent. Welcome a board mate.

Also Marconi’s Chris Nunes, an Australian youth international and product of the AIS, is also of Timorese descent ... but he is still after a Socceroos chance.

Abel Guterres said “We had a fantastic night and cannot thank the Marconi people enough. You could say it was a good night for Timor all round” added the Consul-General, an avid football fan.

He also said that “It would be great to have a Timorese player in the A-League. That would help the game greatly in our country” ... and i am working hard for that! Lol.
